LANGFORD (NEWS1130) – A 13-year-old Langford boy whose twin brother saw him get hit by a pickup truck has died in hospital.
West Shore RCMP said the boy died Thursday night after being critically injured when he was struck crossing a highway on Tuesday at about 7 p.m.
The boy’s twin apparently did not cross the highway and witnessed his brother being hit by the vehicle.
Adding to the tragedy, another sibling arrived on the scene as police were investigating the incident.
The child’s name is not being released pending notification of family members from out of the province.
Police say charges are not being considered against the driver and note it was dark, the child’s clothing was dark, and neither speed, alcohol nor drugs are considered factors in the incident.
