A state of emergency is in effect in New Jersey as it and other mid-Atlantic states brace for Hurricane Sandy.
A mandatory evacuation order takes effect in Atlantic City at 4 p.m. today.
Sandy is currently a category one storm with winds of 120 k.m. an hour.
Sandy is expected to lash Ontario, Quebec and the Mari-times with heavy rain.
