ABBOTSFORD (NEWS1130) – The Abbotsford Heat scored three power goals, as they blanked the Oklahoma City Barons 4-0. Danny Taylor earned his first shutout of the season for Abbotsford, making 23 saves in front of  7,046 fans.

Dustin Sylvester’s fourth of the season, with the man advantage,  started the scoring with 70 seconds to go in the first period.

It was all about the Benjamins in the second period, as Ben Street scored on the power play and Ben Walter was given credit for a Baron own goal with just under three minutes left.

Krys Kolanos wrapped up the scoring with the final power play goal on a two-man advantage near the half way point of the final period.

Taylor’s shutout was his first in seven games this season.

T.J. Brodie had a pair of assists for the winners, while Street and Walter each had a goal and an assist.

The game was sold out, as the Oilers’ top farm team drew fans from Edmonton. The Barons feature young Oilers stars Taylor Hall, Jordan Eberle, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins of Burnaby. The Heat are Calgary’s affiliate.

The two teams will play again on Saturday night.
