ABBOTSFORD (NEWS1130) – The Abbotsford Heat and Oklahoma City Barons will wrap-up a weekend series this evening and the home team will be looking to make it a clean sweep after taking a 4-0 victory last night.
Danny Taylor stopped all 23 shots he faced as Abbotsford earned its second shutout in three games.
The two teams played in front of a sold out crowd at the Abbotsford Events Centre and they’ll do the same again tonight.
The Barons draw a big crowd thanks to the NHL star power that they have on their roster. The Oilers farm club has young stars Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Jordan Eberle, Taylor Hall and Justin Schultz playing on it thanks to the NHL lockout.
Despite all their firepower, the Barons’ 5-5-1 record has them in third place in the five-team South Division.
The win helped the Heat remain atop the North Division. Abbotsford is 7-1-2 and is tied in points with the the Lake Erie Monsters, but the Heat have two games in hand.
Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
