ABBOTSFORD (NEWS1130) – Justin Schultz scored his seventh goal of the season, 96 seconds into overtime as Oklahoma City beat the Heat 2-1. The Kelowna native leads the AHL in scoring with seven goals and nine assists.

The defenceman was a free agent last summer and chose the Oilers over the Canucks.

The score was 0-0 through 40 minutes.

The Barons’ Taylor Hall opened the scoring on the power play in the third period. The goal ended Abbotsford goalie Danny Taylor’s weekend shutout streak at 112 minutes and 14 seconds. It was just the second power play goal allowed by the Heat in 46 attempts this season.

The Heats’ Dustin Sylvester banged a rebound by Yann Denis with just 1:45 left in the game to the game at 1-1.

Shots on goal favoured Oklahoma City 34-32

Taylor had the shutout on Friday, in Abbotsford’s 4-0 win.
