KELOWNA (NEWS1130) – Grumbling about the cold and rain? It could be worse.

Many of the BC Interior roads are covered in snow, something that has made travel a bit difficult in some areas. News1130 is checking in with some of the folks grumbling about early winter weather hitting much of the province.

Stacy works in downtown Kelowna, right along the lake, where people bake in the sun on the sand for much of the year. Right now, she’s got one word to describe it. “White. Very white! And it’s still snowing!”

“I think people are little surprised it started this early. I think everyone’s kind of excited though. It’s good for our ski hills here,” she tells us.

We caught up with Cheryl near Merritt. “Where I live, which is 27 kilometres out of Merritt, my thermometer says eight-below.”

She works for a local towing company and thinks this is a sign of things to come. “Typically, it just snows until April. Last year, it didn’t start quite so early.”

In Prince George, even more snow is expected by the weekend.
