VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A former youth baseball coach accused of sexually assaulting kids is back in Canada to answer to those charges.
Jamieson Glendinning returned to Vancouver on Friday after being arrested in Australia.
Delta Police Constable Ciaran Feenan says the 63-year-old was wanted on charges of gross indecency, assault and sex assaults. The allegations date back several years.
Feenan says Glendinning never showed up at a June court hearing in Surrey. “Mr. Glendinning was subsequently located in Sydney in October where he was arrested and held in an immigration detention centre pending his return to Canada.”
Glendinning is being held in jail until his next court appearance, at the earliest.
The crimes Glendinning is accused of involve elementary school aged boys and girls. He worked with the Tsawwassen Amateur Baseball Association in the 1980s and 90s.
