CALGARY (NEWS1130) -  The BC Lions will be facing Kevin Glenn and not Drew Tate at quarterback when the two teams meet Sunday in the CFL Western Final at BC Place.  Calgary Stampeders coach John Hufnagel is confirming Tate has a fracture in his throwing arm.

“It’s not necessarily a big-time adjustment based on who they had in there as much as we’re going against Calgary’s offence.  We’re not going against just the quarterback, offensive line or running back, we’re ready for whatever they bring to us.” says Lions defensive tackle Khalif Mitchell.

Teammate Korey Banks told reporters today that the Lions expected to see both quarterbacks in the game anyway.

Tate, who led the Stampeders to a 36-30 win over Saskatchewan in last weekend’s CFL Western Semi-final was wearing a cast on throwing arm at today’s practice.   The fourth-year quarterback who originally injured his knee in the first month of the season blames a tackle by Saskatchewan cornerback Tyron Brackenridge on Sunday for the fracture.

“We won ten out of the last twelve.  Kevin started eight of those wins, so we’ll just move on,” says Stampeders coach John Hufnagel,  who says that he was hoping that Tate would be fine, but  an MRI and CT scan revealed the fracture.

Veteran quarterback Glenn, who started most of the Stampeders regular season when Tate was injured  will duel the Lions’ Travis Lulay.  Glenn knows how Tate feels.  Five years ago, he broke his arm in Winnipeg‘s CFL East Final win over Toronto, and was unable to play for the Blue Bombers in the Grey Cup.
