SURREY (NEWS1130) – Good news if you’re heading out onto the Port Mann Bridge.
Two westbound lanes of the new bridge are open, according to Max Logan with the Port Mann Bridge Highway One Improvement Project.
He says workers have moved barriers and lanes onto the new bridge a little earlier than expected because of the threat of rain. “The best thing to do is to slow down, respect those construction speed limits, and watch for signs. As long as you do that, you should have no problem getting to your destination.”
The bridge will be fully open to drivers on December 1, with tolling beginning a week later.
December 1 will also mark the completion of highway widening just east of the roadway and the addition of more than 20 kilometres of H-O-V lanes heading to Langley.
