NEW HAZELTON (NEWS1130) – A documentary filmmaker from Ohio who disappeared in northern British Columbia while working on a project about rare spirit bears has been found dead.

Warren Andrew Sill, who traveled to New Hazelton to film a documentary on white kermode bears, disappeared in July.

The RCMP say Sill’s body was found on Saturday, after searchers discovered what appeared to be Sill’s shirt near a waterfall.

The pools in the area couldn’t be accessed in the summer due to rough terrain and high water levels, but lower water levels have now allowed crews to search the pools, where they found Sill’s body.

Shortly after Sill disappeared, his vehicle was found parked at the edge of Seven Sister’s Provincial Park, prompting a massive air and ground search.

At the time, the RCMP said Sill was not an avid outdoorsman.
