Hundreds attend memorial for Amanda Todd

COQUITLAM (NEWS1130) – Roughly 700 people are paying tribute to Amanda Todd, who took her own life just over a month ago.

People in attendance at the memorial service at the Red Robinson Theatre took some time to reflect on the good that has come from the tragedy.

Dozens of families held onto each other, for many it’s an emotional time.

Rosalynn lives next door to the Todd family and says it’s a day to celebrate. “It is in a way, it’s her birthday right? She wanted to get some points across and I guess she’s done that. She’s brought a lot of people together, so that is a good thing. Hopefully it saves other lives.”

Others say her death has pushed the issue of bullying to the forefront, something they say has been lingering in the background for years.
