Justin Trudeau says the Liberal party he wants to lead would steer down the middle of the political road.

Trudeau suggests Canadians must have a moderate alternative between the left-leaning N.D.P. and the right-leaning Conservatives.

Trudeau commented in Sorel, Quebec, where he and some other Liberal leadership candidates are attending a party meeting.

The Liberals pick a new leader next April.
