VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A wind warning has been issued for Metro Vancouver.
Southeast gusts between 70 to 90 km/h are possible today. The areas affected include all the Lower Mainland, the Sunshine Coast and much of Vancouver Island. The strong winds are forecast to ease this evening as the front moves into the Interior.
If power happens to be knocked out, you won’t be able to go online to find restoration information.
Simi Heer with BC Hydro says their website won’t be available for customers because of maintenance.
That said, she confirms the company has proper measures in place to provide information. “This weekend is a little unique, our outage page is down for one day, today. If customers do have questions about restoration status for an outage, they can call BC Hydro’s Call Centre,” she says.
You can call 1-800- BC Hydro, or tune to News1130 for the latest outages in your area.
