VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Vancouver Whitecaps striker Kenny Miller has been given permission by the club to return home to Scotland for a training stint with his former team, Rangers FC.

Miller joined the Whitecaps midway through the 2012 MLS season. He scored two goals and added one assist in 13 games. He started eight games. Miller will return to the ‘Caps in time for the start of the pre-season, which begins early in the new year.

The 32-year-old has had two stints with the Rangers. He joined the Glasgow-based club in 2000-2001 and then returned in 2008. Miller won three Scottish Premier League titles with the Rangers between 2008 and 2011.

The Scottish international was born about 75 kilometres from Glasgow in Edinburgh, and has scored 17 goals in 65 international appearances for his country.

Miller is expected to report back for the 2013 preseason in Vancouver on January 20, before the ‘Caps head to Arizona on Jan. 28th for a 10-day camp.
