Another inmate walks away from psychiatric hospital

COQUITLAM (NEWS1130) – Coquitlam’s Mayor is frustrated at news that another man is missing from the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital at Colony Farm in Port Coquitlam.

A Canada-wide warrant is out for Charles Albert Hansen who was issued a day-pass yesterday and has not returned back to the hospital.

Mayor Richard Stewart says he wants to know what’s being done to mitigate offenders walking away from the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital at Colony Farm.

“We want our community to continue to support that institution, quite often support like that is dependent on some measure of confidence that everyone is doing all that needs to be done,” says Stewart.

He’s asking for records of all of the absences from the last five years because he doesn’t think the numbers are getting better.

Another patient, David Fomradas is still at large after failing to return in May.

Charles Albert Hansen was last seen Thursday and is now wanted on a Canada wide warrant for being unlawfully at large. Hansen is described as:

    60 year-old Caucasian male
    5’6” tall, 144 pounds
    Slender/Thin build
    Grey hair, balding

He was last seen wearing a blue winter jacket, green and white long sleeve shirt, blue jeans and white runners. If you see him, please do not approach, immediately contact your nearest police department or call 911.
