SURREY (NEWS1130) – Charges have now been laid after Sunday night’s fatal stabbing in Surrey.
William Engebretsen, 54, has been charged with 2nd degree murder for the death of 35-year-old Jeremy McLellan.
It happened just before 6 p.m. in an apartment at 128th Street and 95th Avenue.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the case.
McLellan died in hospital. His family has been notified.
“It is unclear at this time what the motive is for this murder. Investigators will be working… to find answers to the questions that arise during the initial stages of a homicide investigation,” says Sergeant Jennifer Pound.
“We’re not discussing a lot of details about their relation and about how they knew each other. I can tell you that they did know each other,” she adds.
Engebretsen has been remanded for court in the morning.
