VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Call them the Rogers Santa Claus Parade‘s jolly little elves!

News1130 visited to a secret workshop somewhere in Vancouver this morning to chat with the folks preparing the floats for Sunday’s big event, which is also the Greater Vancouver Food Bank‘s biggest day for donations.

There were giant candy canes and toys scattered around the workshop; the final touches are being put on Santa’s float. We even caught up with Jolly Old Elf himself, who is urging everyone to bring a donation on Sunday.

“We’re always expecting great things from the people of Vancouver; they’re always so generous with the food bank, donating food — non-perishable items — and money,” he tells us.

“As we all know, every dollar that you donate to the food bank has the buying power of $3,” adds Santa.

The parade begins at 1 p.m. at Georgia and Broughton in downtown Vancouver. There are also events before and after the parade.
