BLAINE, WA (NEWS1130) – The FBI says a ten year hunt for a former North Vancouver woman has come to an end.
Rebecca Jeanette Rubin was wanted in what American investigators call the largest eco-terrorism case in US history.
The US Attorney’s Office says the 39-year-old turned herself in at the border in Blaine. She was wanted in a series of arsons between 1996-2001 linked to the Earth Liberation Front and the Animal Liberation Front.
The FBI had a $50,000 reward out for her.
The fires were set in Oregon, Colorado, and California and caused tens of millions of dollars in damages.
In 2007, ten people received prison terms for their roles.
Rubin is charged in connection with arsons that include some government buildings and the ski resort in Vail, CO.
