Drivers having trouble getting through to bridge toll system

SURREY (NEWS1130) – People trying to sneak in under the wire and get those 20 free trips when registering for the TReO decal for the new Port Mann are having trouble.

We tried calling, but all we heard was an automated voice saying, “Thank you for waiting. We are experiencing higher than normal call volume.”

John called our newsroom, saying he didn’t have any better luck online. “You can’t log on to the website. You can’t phone… everything’s basically out of order.”

“I’ve been trying for the last half hour. It keeps cutting out,” he tells us.

Max Logan with the Port Mann/Highway 1 Improvement Project says there are a lot of people trying to get their decal at the last minute and he’s asking you to be patient. He explains the call centre is fully-staffed and will be open until midnight.

“Anyone who wishes to register in person today can do so until midnight at our customer service centre in Coquitlam at the corner of Woolridge and Lougheed Highway,” he tells us.

Logan also says if you don’t receive your TREO decal in the mail before Dec. 8 when the tolling begins, don’t worry — the discounts will still be applied. But he notes when you do receive it, you should make sure you put the decal on.

The phone number, incidentally, for TReO is 604-516-TREO.
