TORONTO, Ont. – Toronto police have recovered more toys as part of their investigation into a $2-million heist from the Salvation Army warehouse in North York.
Investigators have seized 122 storage bins of donated toys — worth $24,000 — from a business on Orfus Road and another location on Lawrence Avenue East.
On Wednesday, police found 26 skids of items believed to belong to the Salvation Army including toys, food, and cleaning school supplies.
Two men face charges in the case, including the agency’s former CEO David Rennie.
Investigators are asking any businesses that may have purchased toys from Northern Sales Group in the past to contact police.
Over $2-million in toys was allegedly stolen from the Salvation Army's Railside Road facility near Lawrence and Victoria Park avenues over the course of two years.
