VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – This weekend is all about getting into the holiday spirit – with festive lights, food, and fun.

The West Coast Christmas Show starts Saturday at the Tradex in Abbotsford and runs until the 10th.  It’s the biggest Christmas marketplace in Western Canada featuring gifts, fancy foods, personal services, decorating ideas, festive seminars, and culinary presentations.

Come out to Bright Nights at Stanley Park and ride the Christmas train, enjoy holiday tunes, stay warm with some warm cocoa, and feast on popcorn and nuts.  You can catch the fun everyday until Jan. 1.

Visit the Vancouver Christmas Market this weekend on the Plaza of the QE Theatre. Check out the cool gifts, live music, and tasty mulled wine and spicy gingerbread.

Canyon Lights is back at the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Come check out the thousands of lights, the kids can take part in a scavenger hunt, and do some Christmas cookie decorating.

Bring your little ones out to Cool Yule at Granville Island. Santa will be there Saturday, ready to visit with your kids. He’ll be singing songs and telling stories.

It’s free and fun.  The Winter Craft Fair is on Saturday at Collingwood Neighbourhood House on Joyce Street.

Bring the whole family out to the Lantern Affair on Saturday at Heritage Square in Coquitlam.  There will be great things to eat, live entertainment, arts and crafts, and a special lantern ceremony.  Admission is free.

The Bad Boys of Dance are playing the Centre in Vancouver for the Performing Arts Saturday.

The Vancouver Giants go up against the Tri-City Americans Saturday at the Coliseum.

Come visit with some of us at the annual Rogers Santa Clause Parade.  It starts at 1 o’clock Sunday afternoon at Georgia and Broughton.

Bring the kids out to Breakfast with Santa Sunday morning at the Roundhouse Community Centre and enjoy some pancakes, face painting, and crafts.

Come and celebrate Christmas with the Vancouver Bach Choir Sunday at the Orpheum.

Find some unique Christmas gifts at the Winter Artisans Fair this weekend at the Leigh Square Community Arts Village in Port Coquitlam.

The 7th Annual Surrey Santa Parade of Lights starts Sunday afternoon in downtown Cloverdale.

Come check out the wares of some local artists at A Handmade Holiday this weekend at Fort Langley Hall on Glover Road.

Drop by the Hillcrest Centre for Hands on Hanukkah.  It’s a family-friendly Hanukkah program featuring magic dreidels, stories, games, and live entertainment.

Visit the Retro Design & Antiques Fair Sunday at the Croatian Cultural Centre where you’re sure to find some cool Christmas gifts.

Vancouver Opera presents The Pirates of Penzance Sunday at the QE Theatre.

The famed Polar Express returns to the West Coast Heritage Railway Museum in Squamish this weekend and next. First Class tickets include priority assigned seating and a Polar Express souvenir, Caboose Class offers a ride in a real caboose, and everyone gets hot chocolate and cookies – just like in the movie.
