Commuters encouraged to offer input on the Massey Tunnel

By

DELTA (NEWS1130) – What do you want the new Massey Tunnel to look like?

The province is starting to collect your feedback from a series of public meetings with the first one launched in Delta today.

Delta Mayor Lois Jackson says people have some very specific questions. “Is it going to go where the tunnel is located?  Are they going to put a bridge in?”

She says drivers really want to see this project go ahead but do have some worries.

“People of course want to, where ever possible — save our farmland and not impact it.  People are saying, ‘is this really going to happen?’ ‘Is this just a political ploy?’  I do not believe that it is,” expresses Jackson.

She’s really excited because says the area will be that much closer to getting better rapid transit.

“I really think extending the Canada Line across the Fraser will be a real good thing on this Western-North-South connector for the Lower Mainland,” describes Jackson.

If you want to give your feedback you can do it online, go to masseytunnel.ca.
