CAMPBELL RIVER (NEWS1130) – B.C.’s Independent Investigations Office is looking into a motorcycle crash near Campbell River early this morning that involved the RCMP.
        
The police watchdog says Mounties were trying to stop a motorcycle around 2 a.m. because the driver was apparently not wearing a helmet.
       
During the incident the rider lost control and hit the RCMP cruiser. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
        
Five investigators from the police oversight agency are involved. They will speak with the designated RCMP liason officer.

The Campbell River RCMP will be investigating the driving of the motorcyclist.
