CHICAGO (NEWS1130) – The Seattle Seahawks look to improve on their dismal 1-5 record away from home this season as they take on the NFC North leading Chicago Bears. Chicago is 5-1 at home.
The ‘Hawks are hoping they’ll have defensive backs Brandon Browner and Richard Sherman in the lineup. They’re each facing a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs, but are reportedly in the process of appealing the suspensions.
The game will feature a pair of very strong defences going head-to-head. Seattle has allowed just 16.8 points per game, which is third-best in the league, while the Bears have an NFL-high 33 forced turnovers.
Seattle is trying to maintain its position in the NFC playoff race. The ‘Hawks (6-5) have the same record as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Minnesota Vikings but they still hold the final wild card spot.
Chicago will have Jay Cutler back under centre for a second straight week. Cutler returned from a concussion to lead his team to a 28-10 win over Minnesota last Sunday.
A Bears loss combined with a Green Bay Packers win over the Vikings would put Chicago and Green Bay in a tie for the division lead.
The Seahawks won’t have to contend with top kick returner Devin Hester as he’ll sit out with a concussion.
Kick-off at Soldier Field is 10 a.m.
