SURREY (NEWS1130) – Surrey Mounties say a woman was brutally attacked late Sunday afternoon.

Sgt. Blair McColl says officers found the woman unconscious and half naked at 106 Avenue and 135A Street.

“There is some speculation there may have been a sexual assault, but certainly there was a very serious assault. The female was taken to hospital and is still in very serious condition.”

The Forensic Identification Unit remained at the scene of the crime for several hours collecting evidence.

The major crimes unit has taken over the case and is looking into who may be responsible.
