Double hit and run in Surrey

By

SURREY(NEWS1130)- Surrey RCMP are looking for the driver of a small, black car after two joggers were injured in a hit and run.

It happened just before 8 o’clock last night in a crosswalk on 152nd Street and 32nd Avenue. Mounties say the driver of the car sped away after hitting the pair.

Both women were taken to Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster; one had to be transported by  air ambulance. However, Mounties believe the injuries were not life-threatening.

RCMP Sergeant Blair McColl says the women did everything right while out on their jog.

“The ladies had on headlamps, reflective clothing, and I believe the intersection is fairly well lit. It’s hard to understand the person driving the car didn’t see them, ” he tells us.

If you saw what happened, you’re asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
