VICTORIA (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Giants ended their losing streak at seven games after a convincing 7-2 win in the provincial capital. Cain Franson led the way for the winners with two goals and an assist.
The Giants jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period as Franson and Jackson Houk each scored and assisted on each others goal. Houck finished the game with a goal and two helpers.
Each side scored a pair of goals in the middle period.
Vancouver blew it open in the third period with three more goals, as defenceman Brett Kulak and Franson scored 37 seconds apart starting at the 6:27 point of the period.
Payton Lee made 31 saves for the G-men, as the Royals outshot the Giants 33-28.
Blake Orban and Dalton Sward each had two assists apiece for the winners.
Vancouver is home to Swift Current at the Pacific Coliseum on Friday night.
