EVERETT, WA (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Giants had their modest one-game win streak come to an end last night and they try to start a new streak tonight as they take on the Everett Silvertips.

The Giants fell 3-1 to the Swift Current Broncos at the Pacific Coliseum for their eighth loss in their past nine games. Everett has been struggling recently as well, having lost three games in a row.

The teams are meeting for the fourth time this season and the Silvertips will be looking to continue their early-season dominance. Everett beat Vancouver 5-3 on the road in late September before recording 6-5 and 4-0 victories at home in November.

Both teams’ struggles have them in last place in their respective divisions. Vancouver (8-21-0) is eight points back of the Prince George Cougars for fourth-place in the BC Division, while Everett (11-20-2) trails the Seattle Thunderbirds by nine points at the bottom of the US Division.

The Giants busy weekend won’t end tonight. Following the game, the team will return home to prepare for a Sunday meeting with the WHL-leading Kamloops Blazers.

Puck drop tonight is at 7:05 p.m.
