VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Giants have lost nine of their past 10 games including defeats the past two nights as they host one of the top teams in the WHL tonight, the Kamloops Blazers.

The Giants fell 3-1 to the Swift Current Broncos on Friday and then dropped a 4-1 decision to the Everett Silvertips last night.

Things won’t be getting any easier for Vancouver, as the Blazers hold a share of the league lead with the Portland Winterhawks. Portland has three games in hand on Kamloops.

The Blazers will be trying to build on their lead atop the BC Division standings. Kamloops (23-7-3) has a nine-point advantage over the Kelowna Rockets, while the Giants (8-22-0) sit last in the division, 33 points back.

The teams are meeting for just the second time this season. The Blazers took a 2-1 victory in Kamloops on Nov. 24th.

Kamloops has the top two scorers in the WHL. Colin Smith (23 goals, 34 assists) and JC Lipon (22 goals, 35 assists) share the league lead with 57 points each.

Puck drop at the Pacific Coliseum is at 4 p.m.
