KAMLOOPS (NEWS1130) – The deaths of a husband and wife teaching team in a car crash north of Kamloops has taken a further tragic turn with word the woman was seven months pregnant.
Skye Buck and his wife Courtney were both 30 and taught in the community of Clearwater.
They were killed yesterday when their car skidded off an icy patch of Highway 5 and plunged 30 metres down an embankment into the North Thompson River.
A family friend says Skye recently told her the couple was expecting a child early in the New Year.
Cst. Leslie Smith says the Bucks were well known in the community, their deaths are a tragedy and the entire town of Clearwater is grieving.
Kamloops Thompson School District superintendent Terry Sullivan says a critical response team has been sent to Clearwater to help students and staff at the high school and elementary school where the two taught.
