RICHMOND (NEWS1130) – Richmond RCMP are releasing more details surrounding Tuesday’s shooting in the underground parkade of an IKEA.
Investigators say the shooting was a targeted incident, but not gang-related. They also say the intended target is known to them.
They were able to come to this conclusion after interviewing several witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage.
RCMP say they still don’t have a description of the suspect or the dark-green minivan seen speeding away from the area.
“To say that this incident is very concerning is an understatement,” says Cpl. Sherrdean Turley, Media Relations Officer for Richmond RCMP. “Given the time of day and location, the total disregard of public safety is appalling.”
No one was hit in the brazen shooting.
Police are strongly urging witnesses to the incident or anyone that has information on this incident to please call them or Crime Stoppers.
