CLEARWATER (NEWS1130) – RCMP are calling off the search for a missing teacher.
They made the decision Wednesday, and have declared Courtney Buck “missing and presumed drowned.” She was 7 months pregnant.
Buck was driving with her husband, Skye Buck, on Sunday when their car plunged 30 metres down an embankment and into the North Thompson River.
Skye Buck’s body was found Tuesday by police divers; his body was still in the couple’s car.
The search for Buck covered land, air, and water.
She was a Grade 1 teacher at Raft River Elementary school in Clearwater, while Skye taught math and coached basketball at the municipalities only high school.
