Abbotsford rides Brust to a win over Texas

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS1130) – Goalie Barry Brust made 39 saves in 65 minutes and three more in the shootout to lead the Heat to a 2-1 win over Texas. Krys Kolanos scored in regulation and the shootout winner for Abbotsford.

The Stars opened the scoring five minutes into the second period, as Matt Fraser blasted a one timer by Brust on a five-on-three advantage.

Less than three minutes later, Kolanos evened the score on the power play for Abbotsford.

Jack Campbell was solid between the pipes for Texas, making 25 stops.

TJ Brodie and Roman Horak scored the other Heat markers in the break away competition.

Abbotsford’s remaining half dozen games in 2012 are on the road, including three in eleven days with the Canucks farm club in Chicago.
