Bust in Fraser Valley nets cash and guns

ABBOTSFORD (NEWS1130) – Four people, including two Mexicans, could be charged after Abbotsford Police seized $250,000 and a loaded gun from the van they were in, thanks to a very observant officer.

The cop noticed a white van near the Sumas border driving 40 kilometres below the speed limit and weaving in and out of the lanes. He also saw two people inside wearing camouflage clothing.

Abbotsford Police Constable Ian MacDonald explains what happens to the four now.

“The backgrounds of the Mexican nationals will be explored. We’re holding that pair for immigration. We are going to continue our investigation and look into the background for the two Canadian individuals.”

And depending on how the investigation goes, he says the money will either stay with police or could end up with Canada Border Services.
