Huszar family not giving up hope of finding Matthew

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The passing of time doesn’t make things any easier for the mother of a young man who vanished a year ago.

“We’ll never give up hope. Not until we find out what happened,” says Danny, Matthew Huszar‘s mother.

Matthew went missing after a Christmas party at the Lamplighter Pub. He was last seen on Water Street around midnight. Many people have come forward with information, but no tips offer answers to how or why he went missing.

“There are all kinds of different scenarios you run through your mind. And, of course, one of them is that maybe he’s just taken a break from life and sort of disappeared on his own. It’s nothing we think really happened,” explains Danny.

She says it wasn’t in his character to disappear and he wasn’t dealing with any depression which makes the situation even unusual. “It’s pretty much the hardest thing that you could ever dream of; I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. It’s a big hole in the family.”

The family is asking anyone to come forward with new information by contacting Vancouver Police at 604-717-3321 or 911. You can also get more information on this website.
