The Giants head to WHL Christmas break with a loss

PRINCE GEORGE (NEWS1130) – Carson Bolduc scored the game winning goal six minutes into the third period as the Cougars edged Vancouver 2-1. Prince George took two of the three games played by the clubs on the weekend.

Trevor Cheek put Vancouver on the board first with his 12th goal of the season with five and a half minutes to go in the second period.

The Cougars’ Alex Forsberg evened the contest up three minutes later.

Prince George goalie Brett Zarowny was the first star of the game, making 35 saves. The Giants Payton Lee stopped 21 shots.

The home team was victorious in all three games, with the final pair played in northern BC.

The G-Men have nine wins and 25 losses this season. They are now 10 points back of fourth place Prince George in the BC Division.

Vancouver will play again on Friday, December 28, at home versus Kelowna. They will also play Kamloops and the Cougars that weekend.
