VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - For the second time this week, the Canucks have moved a player off their injured list. A day after Alex Edler was medically cleared from his back injury, defencemen Jason Garrison has also been cleared, meaning he will not have to receive team-monitored rehabilitation and like Edler will stop collecting a paycheque.
Garrison, who signed a six-year, $27.6 million contract in summer free agency has been healing a groin problem. The former Florida Panther and native of White Rock says he is also considering playing in Europe if no speedy resolution is foudn in the hockey lockout.
The medical clearance of Garrison leaves Ryan Kesler as the only player still injured. His agent, Kurt Overhardt saidl ast week that Kesler is still ”several months away” while the Canucks say there is no timeline.
