VANCOUVER (News1130) – Where is all that snow going to go when it thaws along our roadways?

City crews say they are set to deal with a steady stream of water, but they may need your help.

Murray Wightman is with the City of Vancouver. “If it comes very heavy and very quickly that is going to be a bigger problem than if it is just slow and gradual.”

So he says he could use a hand from homeowners.

“If they can just move the slush off their catch basins as they would leaves, the water will drain through and the water will subside very quickly.”

Pedestrians though, stay back, he says professionals will deal with the roadways.
