Heat lose on the road to Canucks’ Wolves farm team

CHICAGO (NEWS1130) –  The Chicago Wolves defeated the Abbotsford Heat 1-0 in early American Hockey League action in Chicago this morning.  The early start was a pre-Christmas school kids promotion.  Darren Haydar scored the lone goal for the Canucks farm team while Matt Climie stopped 24 shots for the shutout to help Chicago win its fourth-straight game.

Barry Brust was also solid in the Abbotsford net, facing 35 Wolves’ shots and suffers his first loss in regulation this year.  The Heat remain tied for top spot in the American Hockey League’s Western Conference with 36 points and have a winning road record of 5-3-1-2 this season despite the loss.

The game for Abbotsford is the first of five against the Wolves in the next ten games.  Chicago takes over the Midwest Division lead with the win.
