Malls are filling up as Christmas approaches

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Cold, sloppy weather isn’t stopping people from heading to the malls to get some last minute shopping done.

News1130 went mall-to-mall checking on the situation, and the good news is, it doesn’t sound as bad as many may think it is.

“It’s a sea of people, but I have to say, it’s pretty calm for the 21st. It’s surprising, everyone is orderly and somewhat friendly,” describes one shopper.

One man found sitting with a pile of bags says he’s just getting started. “I’m only doing half of it right now. I’ll finish it over the next few days.”

This store manager expects the chaos to gradually go up. “We’ve prepared with a lot of staff and stock. We’re ready to roll.”
