Abbotsford drops the third game of an AHL road trip


ROCKFORD, IL (NEWS1130) – The IceHogs scored a pair of goals in the third period to come back and beat the Heat 3-2. Krys Kolanos had both Abbotsford goals as the Flames farm team lost their third road game in four days.

Defenceman TJ Brodie assisted on both of Kolanos’s goals. The first came on the power play near the six minute mark of the game. The second was scored at even strength, almost 11 minutes later.

Ben Smith cut the lead in half for the Blackhawks farm team near the end of the opening period.

Regular Chicago defenceman Nick Leddy evened the game seven and half minutes into the third period.

Rockford’s Brandon Pirri scored the game winner with eight minutes to go.

Danny Taylor took the loss in goal for the Heat, making 27 saves.

Abbotsford had 33 shots on Carter Hutton in the IceHogs goal.

The Heat will be off for a week, before meeting the Canucks farm club in Chicago for a doubleheader next weekend.
