Seahawks clinch a playoff spot in blowout win over the Niners

SEATTLE, WA (NEWS1130) – In a NFC West showdown, Seattle continued their high scoring ways by blasting San Francisco 42-13. Rookie quarterback Russell Wilson threw four touchdowns in the Hawks fourth straight win.

Seattle was up 21-0 less than a minute into the second quarter.

Running back Marshawn Lynch had a touchdown run and catch in the first quarter.

Red Bryant blocked a 49ers field goal attempt a few seconds into the second quarter and Richard Sherman returned it 90 yards for the Seattle major. Sherman also had an interception and five tackles.

Seattle led 28-6 at the Half.

Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin caught touchdown passed in the third and the fourth quarter from rookie quarterback Russell Wilson.

The Niners only TD came in the last two minutes.

Seattle has outscored their opponents 150-30 in their last three games.

Lynch finished with 126 yards on the ground and caught two passes for 19 yards.

Pete Carroll’s squad still have a shot at the NFC West title. They need to beat the Rams at home. San Francisco would have to lose at home to Arizona. Both games kickoff at 1:35 PM next Sunday.
