Many disgusted over Luka Magnotta making top newsmaker

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Many Canadians are reacting in disgust and anger after news editors and directors surveyed by The Canadian Press chose the story of alleged mutilation murderer Luka Rocco Magnotta as newsmaker of the year.

The alleged killer — now in a Montreal detention centre — was the subject of a global manhunt last spring after a Chinese engineering student was killed and his body was cut up.

Remains were mailed to four different locations in Ottawa and in Vancouver.

The event, including Magnotta’s capture last June at a Berlin internet cafe, was splashed across newspaper front pages and websites.

Canadian Press managing editor Scott White points out that the newsmaker can be any story that gets wide play, good or bad.

The staff at Canadian Press are extremely stupid to have picked this subject, thus falling prey to his plan to remain in the public spotlight. The Canadian media has always been synonymous with low quality news reporting and this action, highlights their stupidity. All these criminal work very hard to get media coverage in order to glorify themselves and this time he didn’t have to try very hard, thanks to the stupidity of the Canadian Press.

This made me sick! At first, I thought it was a joke, had to double check the calendar to make sure it wasn’t April 1st !

Canadian Press has just lowered (or raised) the bar for the next demented social path to surpass in order for them to earn the title! Good on you Canadian Press! (that was sarcasm by the way)
