VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – A mild earthquake rattled parts of British Columbia’s south coast late Wednesday night.
Natural Resources Canada says the 3.3 magnitude shaker occurred at 10:36 p.m. Pacific time on Boxing Day evening.
It was centred 13 kilometres east of Sidney, northeast of Victoria.
Officials say there are no reports of damage and none would be expected.
Greater Victoria, Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley residents say they felt the shaker.
One Vancouver woman says she heard what she thought was a strong gust of wind, but realized it must have been an earthquake because the trees outside were not moving.

Beware! Home Buyers, this quake occurs in inlet, that means Richmond is prone to direct attack by tsunami of next big quake (there will be no barriar of Vancouver Island.)
Yeah right… you can get earthquakes in between the Island and Vancouver! Lol… so the saying “Vancouver will never get a tsunami” DOESNT EXIST! >:T
I knew I felt something yesterday when I was sitting and listening to my mp3 player. I just felt a shake to the ground but thought it may have been a heavy truck passing by because that sometimes shakes our house but the shake was strong, so I was a little unsure. But now I know, it was an earthquake.
As soon as the bc liberal party allowed “Fracking” in the Peace district , there are earthquakes up and down the bc coast. But, i guess thats OK as long as the gas companies make money , right? Thats what its about , destroy the planet in the name of profit.
