Surrey man charged, accused of slashing 480 SkyTrain seats

SURREY (NEWS1130) – A man from Surrey has been arrested for slashing close to 500 SkyTrain seats.

This isn’t just your regular case of vandalism; repairs have cost over $45,000.

Terald Gorecki, 63, was arrested after Transit Police reviewed hundreds of hours of security tape trying to find the person responsible for slashing seats with a boxcutter.

If Gorecki is guilty, this was an inside job.

“As a contract maintenance worker for SkyTrain, he had ready access to the cars and could ride freely on the SkyTrain,” explains Ann Drennan with Transit Police.

She tells us this seems to be a case of someone with an issue taking it out on 480 SkyTrain seats.
