Busy New Year’s Eve for Operation Red Nose

By

LOWER MAINLAND (NEWS1130) – It was another very busy night for Operation Red Nose.

Chris Wilson, co-ordinator for the Tri-Cities area, says people seem to be getting the message about drinking and driving and demand for the service continues to go up.

“It started a little bit slow,” he admits. “I thought we’d get a few more calls early in the night. But by the end of it… we’re probably at over 150 rides.”

“It was so great last night; we had so many brand new volunteers. All of them came back, saying ‘Wow, this is great. I’m going to sign up again next year — earlier,'” he tells us.

Last night was the last for Operation Red Nose this season.

It starts up again next Christmas; if you’d like to volunteer for the 2013 season, check the Operation Red Nose website.
