Winnipeg man dies after being found in creek at Big White

KELOWNA (NEWS1130) – A 22-year-old Winnipeg man has died after being found suffering from severe hypothermia in water and snow following an apparent snowboarding accident at a ski resort near Kelowna.
The BC Coroner’s Service says the man was Nickolas Voyer-Taylor, a seasonal employee and resident of the Big White resort.
The service says Voyer-Taylor had been snowboarding before he was found injured, unconscious as and partially submerged in the water.
Members of the resort’s ski patrol pulled him out and he was taken to Kelowna General Hospital, but could not be revived.
The coroner is continuing to investigate the death.
