No appeal for Inderjit Singh Reyat

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Supreme Court of Canada will not hear the case of the only man convicted in connection with the Air India bombing.

The court has rejected the appeal from Inderjit Singh Reyat.

Reyat was convicted of perjury and handed a nine-year sentence for lying during the trial of Ripudaman Singh Malik and Ajaib Singh Bagri. Both men were acquitted.

Three hundred and twenty nine people were killed in the bombing aboard Air India flight 182 on June 23, 1985.

The Supreme Court of Canada has not given any reasons for its decision.
