Immigrant sent home after getting caught groping women

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – An illegal immigrant has been sent back to South Korea after Transit Police caught him groping multiple women on a bus in Vancouver.

The 43-year-old man has been in Vancouver since 1995 and Cst. Anne Drennan says a witness complained the man was touching multiple women on the 99 B-Line.

Plain clothes officers went out to investigate and caught him in the act; he was then arrested but Drennan says he was hesitant to reveal who he was.

Canada Border Services Agency Immigration officers were called and the two teams discovered he’s wanted in South Korea on multiple outstanding warrants for financial crimes, including fraud and embezzlement totaling nearly $200,000.

“Once he was identified, that information has been on the system for many many years and it was very easy to put two and two together and find out that South Korea wanted him back to face the charges there.” says Drennan.
