Vancouver’s Fifth Avenue Cinemas, Park Theatre sold

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Two independent Vancouver movie houses are being sold.
Fifth Avenue Cinemas and the Park Theatre are being sold by owners Leonard Schein and Tom Lightburn. They closed the Ridge Theatre earlier this month; it’s being torn down for condos.
The Fifth Avenue and the Park are being bought by Canada’s biggest movie exhibitor, Cineplex. No price has been revealed.
Cineplex’s Michael Kennedy says “Cineplex is absolutely committed to continue to offer intelligent and artistic films from around the world in these theatres.”
